For what it's worth, don't wish that on us. The man's a flowery speaker, but he's also a socialist. You want the U.S economy (and "as does the U.S. so does the world") to tank... he's your guy.
He's the only U.S. presidential candidate I've ever watched speak (though I'm sure there may have been others before I was old enough to care) and not wanted to hide under the couch for sheer sympathetic embarrassment, which is a big deal, because I'm kind of shallow that way, I like my politicians to be good public speakers.
So he's a good speaker. But he's a bad policy-maker.
I'm going to go back to watching West Wing now and living in a fantasy world, where politicians tell the truth and Americans have healthcare.
Americans have the best health care system in the world. It's called the free market. It needs tweaks, not a complete overhaul.

Have to disagree. Strongly. A market, like an economy, like a government, is not a force of nature, nor a closed system. It's artificial, and as such needs the same life support as anything else artificially created and not quite meant to be. Some things are simply too important to the ongoing cohesion of a society to throw up one's hands and leave it to chance. When I look at a government that treats the funding and management of absolutely necessary social programs with the same attention and care as the administration of a Taco Bell, I have to pause and clutch at my chest in sheer cellular horror. A government is not a profit-making business. It's a government. That's why we have different words for the two things. Government deserves reverence and deliberation.
