Pancakes, pandering, and pixel-pushing

I have a post brewing of Useful Things I Learned this weekend, but for right now, three quick notes.

(1) Brunch at Craigie on Main this morning = utterly lovely (and mine did not involve any pork products, despite their logo).

(2) If you know any single Jews in the Boston area -- particularly men -- please, please send them to this tonight ( Read more... )

What quality of camera are you looking at? I made the mistake of hastily buying a camera too low-end for my needs, but if you just need a point-and-shoot...

Pretty much, yeah! I mostly just want it for vacation photos, though I would be happy to get something I can fruitfully use for work as well. Can you email me the details, including what you want for it?

Suddenly kind of wish I'd seen this post earlier... :) But I needed the downtime.

Well, you can mark your calendar for the next one: Sunday, January 23, 2011! :-)

Done! In the mean time, have any nice single friends you think I'd get along with? ;-)

You plan mixers six months in advance? I mean, a lot can happen in six months.

You know, you can get a new EeePC for $300-400. Are you looking for something significantly cheaper or significantly more powerful?

We just had our planning meeting for Aug through Dec, but we have the mixers every six months, and that's the Sunday after Tu B'Shvat, so it's on the calendar. I'm not seriously suggesting that currently-single people need to commit that far ahead. ;-)

And, yes, I'm looking at refurbished netbooks in the $270 range, which is entirely reasonable -- I'll be able to do that out of pocket in another month or so (depending on how quickly I also want a new smartphone, etc.). But if someone I know locally had one lying around that they would sell me for $200 or less, that would be all to the good.

I assume from your post that the singles thing was yesterday (the day you posted this), but out of curiosity I looked at that page ... stared at it and scanned around for a while... and could not figure out what day the event is/was.
