We'd love to see you; details depend somewhat on Beth's schedule, and Friday is probably best for us.

Friday I have a lunch break from 11-1, and then there are interesting talks until 6pm. If you guys can come up to the city, I could meet you pretty much anywhere for lunch around 11:30 or dinner around 6:30.

We're touring an elementary school until 11 am down here, but we could meet you for lunch around noon Friday. Either that or take the kids into the city and meet you for dinner at a more kid-friendly place. I don't know much about the food in the city other than there's a crepe stand between Giradelli square and pier 39 that I like. I know there's a McDonalds in the financial district and a Hard Rock Cafe somewhere.

If you're near the San Jose airport you're welcome to stay here, although I gather that you already have someplace to stay. I'm unfortunately teaching a CPR class Saturday from 1 to 7pm-ish so that makes Saturday gatherings harder until late, at which point you'd likely need to go to sleep.

For the record, Kim's having trouble getting online right now. She thinks Friday lunch would be great, and is tempted by the crepe stand (though other options work, too). Send me email if you need a current phone number.

I would love to find places that fill in some of my favorite foods that don't exist here in town. Thai is something I'm definitely missing. Mediterranean as well. Good seafood is also something I'd like to splurge on while I'm on a city that makes it easy to get fresh.

Thursday I'm free from about 11:45 to 1:15 for lunch, so something within 15 minutes of the Moscone Center would be best. I'm looking at an early dinner Thursday. The interesting talks are done by about 4:15, but there is a Claremont Colleges Reception from 6-8 that I'd like to attend. With my body being on Eastern time (and tired from getting in late Wed. night), eating around 4:30 or 5 before the reception will be much better than putting dinner off until 7:30 or 8.

Although, now that I think about it, a lot of interesting places that are only open for dinner probably won't open until 5 or 5:30. I could probably eat a snack at 4:30 and hold out for a late dinner closer to 8. I might be half asleep though :-)

Yeah, Slanted Door doesn't open till 5:30.

Oh hey, Yelp lets you narrow searches by opening hours. Looks like we'd still have lots of choices at 4:30

I could go either early or late -- it's up to you.
