Chapter 1 Chapter 2
“W-what? Nobody lives in Room 0? No one at all?” Jaejoong uttered in disbelief and Yunho simply nodded. Just the thought of it all got Jaejoong’s mind spinning in circles and he dropped onto the couch, one hand rubbing his face.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
There is absolute no one living in a hotel room that is supposedly occupied by a little girl, her mother and a teddy bear. Now his stay had just become complicated and he still hasn’t figured out a way to escape from this deserted place. Just fucking great.
“T-then-Miyoung? She- “
Was she telling the truth? Did she actually live in that room or was she just playing house on her own?
Maybe she was just messing with him?
Jaejoong closed his eyes, burying his face onto the palm of his hand and simply crossed his heart that Miyoung was just playing a prank on him.
He opened his eyes again.
“Why don’t you take a rest, sir- maybe a shower? You’ve had quite a long day and it’s still beyond weeks before the next trolley arrives.” Yunho sum and Jaejoong did nothing but stare at the dusty marble floor. The constant reminder in his brain repetitively telling him don’t panic. This is just a dream. A very bad dream. You’ll wake up any minute now. So don’t panic.
Jaejoong slumped against the couch, taking his eyes off the floor and watching his surroundings grow smaller, hoping they would warp and disappear. However, nothing happened and he was still stuck and sitting on the couch, breathing loudly until he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Sir, you should rest in your room.”
Without much notice, Yunho picked up Jaejoong by the arm and wrapped it around his neck, smoothly picking up the rest of the other’s weight.
The expression on Jaejoong immediately cringe in surprise, causing him to yelp and unconsciously take hold of Yunho’s neck to prevent his potential fall.
“W-wait- Stop!” Jaejoong plead and Yunho stood there for an expectant pause, gazing over Jaejoong until he spoke. “Yes?”
Nervously, Jaejoong didn’t expect Yunho to answer, nevertheless he ask quietly, “Why are you carrying me?”
It took Yunho a few moments of lingering gazes and Jaejoong’s subtle blushing face until he said, “To your room, sir” and walked to the elevator door, leaving an embarrass Jaejoong burying his face onto Yunho’s chest.
They got there quietly and once they reached their destination, Yunho set Jaejoong down onto his feet and handed him the keys. “If you need anything else, there is a telecom connected in your room where you may be able to contact me. The bathroom and shower is down the hall to your left and the basement is off-limits. Please have a wonderful stay in Hotel 0, sir.”
Jaejoong nodded, noting the shower particularly and just when Yunho was about to walk away, he quickly blurted.
“Please, don’t call me ‘sir.’ Just Jaejoong.”
Holy fuck. What the hell.
He mentally slapped himself for awkwardly demanding to be addressed differently, cursing at his loose mouth. Especially to someone he just met today no less.
Hastily, he retreated into his room, hoping Yunho ignored his call and continues to walk away.
Just as he slammed the door, Yunho turned around for a swift glance.
“As you wish, Jaejoong sir.”
---->
Cold.
The first word that came to Jaejoong’s mind when he stepped into the rusty shower stall and it was much less than what he had expected. Rusty sink, dirt- covered walls, some mold forming at the corner, thin shower curtains and very irksome cold water, which he had spent a couple of minutes attempting to adjust to warm water. If that wasn’t enough, the lights were dimming constantly and he couldn’t help but think that there might be something-someone watching him in the midst of his privacy.
It didn’t seem like he was alone at all.
And that wasn’t even the fucked up part.
Shaking terribly, Jaejoong sneezed and scrubbed his hair anxiously.
Though, he would’ve felt worst without the shower if Yunho didn’t actually point out that he needed one. Even if he did felt something weird and suspicious about the man, the eerie hotel was a lot stranger.
He didn’t see a single person walking around, even at the tedious night, the hotel was anything but lively.
Rinsing the rest of hair, Jaejoong turned off the shower head and stepped out of the stall. He grabbed a clean towel on the counter and quickly wrapped it around his waist whilst taking another, draping it over his head.
He glanced at the mirror-at his reflection and with the very least warning, the door swung open. Jaejoong turned quickly, watching an equally pale dark- haired man with a towel hanging over his shoulder reveal himself. The man was holding onto a bucket of what Jaejoong would assume was soap and sponges. He was about to greet him until the man scream.
“AHHHHHH!!! A-A G-G-GHOST!”
Wait. What?
Confused, Jaejoong stepped closer to the frighten pale man, hoping to calm him down before there were any further misunderstandings.
“Um… Excus-“
“Ahhhh!!! G-get away from me!” The pale man tripped over nothing, dropping his bucket in the process and hurriedly scooted away before Jaejoong could touch him.
Jaejoong’s eyes widen in surprise, his mind already questioning the figure in front of him. Deducting whether the man before him was harmful-even though the reaction the other was giving him was far from exaggeration-he hardly doubt the man will do something to him anytime soon.
By the time he cornered the pale man to a wall, his skin still dripping with cold water and onto the floor. He moved closer to the other and reached his hand out to him.
“Don’t hurt me!” The pale man raised his arms as if to shield himself, even though his attempt may prove to be futile.
“I’m not going to hurt you!” Jaejoong snapped and the pale man looked at him between the creases of his crossed arms. “Liar! That’s what they all say before they go for the-ahahahahahaha!”
Jaejoong tickled the man, who undoubtedly started laughing uncontrollably.
“Stop… aha…s-stop!” He tried to pry Jaejoong’s hands away, whereas Jaejoong willing stepped back and the laughter slowly depleted. “Believe me now?” Jaejoong asked as the other man looked at him with tears in his eyes.
“Y-you’re not a ghost?” He whimpered and stared at Jaejoong cautiously before lowering his arms “and you’re not going to hurt me?”
“No, I’m not a ghost and I’m not going to hurt you, ok?”
The other man nodded, still eyeing Jaejoong’s naked form and that’s when Jaejoong realize he was still dripping wet and out of the shower. He blushed.
“A-ahaha… Did you need the shower?” He smiled nervously, hoping to keep the other’s eyes off him, even if he did have a nice complexion, and pulled his hand out for a handshake. “I’m Kim Jaejoong by the way.”
“Park Yoochun” The other man replies and shook his hand diligently. “So you’re real?”
“Yup, just as real as you are.” Jaejoong smiled and he found Yoochun’s lips curving in the same direction, then he sighed.
“Oh gosh, I- I’m sorry about earlier. It’s just- I’ve been so freaked out ever since I got here.“ Yoochun breathed out hastily, shoving his palms against his face and whisper. “I think I’m going crazy.”
Jaejoong could say the same for himself. Even since he got here, it’s been nothing but a freak show. One step into this strange hotel and things come out unexpectedly, which he has already lost some years ahead of him due to that.
“Hey, it’s alright. I mean- sure, you scared the shit out of me, but no harm done, right?” Jaejoong mused, looking around for the bucket and scattered pieces of soap all over the floor. He squatted down, picking them up and whatever sponge, towel, and shampoo the pale man had in there. He found Yoochun gathering his things after he collected the remaining necessities.
Graciously, he handed the bucket back to Yoochun.
“So… why a ghost?” Jaejoong paused to look at Yoochun. “Like when I came out of the shower, you called me a ghost.”
Despite being scared shitless, Jaejoong could understand why the other man would assume he was a ghost. Especially after a shower, it didn’t exactly help that he was dripping water everywhere and half-naked? Even though being half-naked didn’t have anything to do with mistaking him for a ghost, his pale complexion proved otherwise.
“Why?”
Silently, Yoochun gulped. His eyes moved around rapidly, however they never left the floor and Jaejoong worry that he may have said the wrong thing.
“Yoochun?”
“Y-yeah. I-I saw…”
“Y-you saw one?” Jaejoong asked curiously and this time Yoochun suddenly stiffened, his eyes darken drastically until he nodded.
“It was a little girl.” He said in a low voice, close to a whisper and Jaejoong nearly didn’t catch it.
Gradually, Jaejoong’s eyes grew wider at the mere mention of a little girl and the first person to come to his mind was no one other than Miyoung. Considering he hadn’t exactly met any other little girl so far and they were by far, on a stranded hotel.
“She giggles a lot-and I mean it. She’s been following me for the past three days.”
Three days? Isn’t that when the Trolley arrived?
“How did you end up here?”
“Trolley” Jaejoong gasp, watching Yoochun brush his bangs away, “I was on my way to Seoul until it made a resting stop here. I stayed the night. Then by morning…” He looked away.
“I found out it had already left without me.”
Ouch.
Jaejoong inwardly cringe at the thought of being left behind, however, the idea of no longer being alone had brighten up his mood significantly for him to care. Hopefully when the next trolley comes, he’ll be able to escape with no worries or hassles at all.
“You?”
“Car broke down on the road… and this was the nearest place I could find,” He pointed and voice out bitterly. Biting down on his lips, Jaejoong stared at Yoochun for a good long minute, and then he licked them. He was shaking horribly and he hoped Yoochun wouldn’t inquire.
“D-do you by any chance know the girl’s name?”
“Yeah”
Jaejoong gulped.
Don’t tell me-
Yoochun eyed him warily before saying.
“Miyoung”
A/N: pretty much a boring chapter because everyone practically already guessed what Miyoung was in the previous chapter! OTL There was some yunjae but the rest were just jaechun meeting up and Yoochun’s obvious answers, which I hope clarified some things about Miyoung. :) I’m also grateful to all those to who commented on my previous chapter! Thanks guys! I was sort of contemplating on adding some “hardcore” stuff but decided against it because the story will be too rushed and I like to keep the suspense consistent. Well, at least I hope it was. Anyway, comments, questions and criticism are all still very welcome! :)
