The blonde man exits his car, closing the door with a mild ‘thud.’
"Fuck, why me?"
A couple of minutes ago, Jaejoong had just sped off the highway and onto the one lone road from the city of Seoul towards Incheon. Miles and miles away from the pressure and stressful life he calls a 'family.' A family he thought might have had the chance to become normal if they weren't one of the riches families in Korea.
He cursed again once he spotted the flat tire under the pave of his car.
“Stupid, stupid thing. Of all the-“ He sighed irritably. Hopeless and stranded in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire and none to spare. If only he didn’t rush out like he did after his last blind date, which was obviously set up by his obnoxious parents. They were too much into the parties, the business, and most of all the matching making extravaganzas. Just thinking about it would make him whole-heartedly sick. Ugh.
Squinting, he flipped his sunglasses open and put them on. The sun irritated his eyes just as much as his Ferrari shining as if there was nothing wrong and flawed. He kicked the very expensive steel that once supported his air tire and winced.
Maybe he shouldn’t have mindlessly driven away.
He settled for leaning against the car and thought about his remaining options. There was nothing but dirt in sight, no spare tire and the sun was going down every passing minute, therefore, his last option…
Call for help.
He bit his lips out of habit and pulled out his phone to see no signal blinking on the top screen of his phone, “Oh fuck me.”

Jaejoong walked for a few miles, retracting whether there were any hotels or resting spots he passed by, but to his avail, he didn’t recall a single one at all. Instead he went forward onto the now dark lonesome road, probably miles away from his useless Ferrari.
He heaved loudly, the air in his lungs going dry for thirst and the pain jabbed at his side to breathe. His skin was drenched in sweat and he couldn’t help but pray for a decent shower stall in the next resting place.
Stopping momentarily, he thought bitterly if only he actually worked out more on his legs rather than his arms and chest, he’d probably reach somewhere by now.
Unfortunately, the sun had passed due its stay and called it a day, leaving Jaejoong in the creepy dark road with no signal or anyone around whatsoever.
And it scared the shit out of him.
It wasn’t like he was a girl or anything, but the thought of getting raped with nowhere to run, no devices for self- defense and much less, no one out there to help him at all.
He sighed for the nth time at the misery of his life and continued to walk. He glanced at his watch and it was close to eight. At least, he hasn’t lost track of time-yet.
After a few exhausted steps, he stopped abruptly and hastily glanced at his watch one more time.
“Wait, I-I’m not seeing this, right?”
He rotated his wrist left and right, watching his wristwatch reflecting some anonymous light.
“Holy fu- there’s light!” He looked around desperately, attempting to spot the source. He knew it wasn’t coming from the sky due to the absent moon nor was it from himself, hence the pitch black darkness. Though, the thought of finally escaping the chilly cold road raised Jaejoong’s hopes for potential life out there.
“That means I’m close to someone and they could help me get out of here!”
He cheered at the realization and spotted the glow of light from a distance. The spur of motivation helped to push his aching limbs forward; however, he still winced and twinge at every painful step along the way.

Once Jaejoong reached the sight, he noticed it was a blandly old-fashion hotel, the sign buzzing every few seconds and the concrete walls were built from bricks. The windows looked like they weren’t cleaned for months and a grey atmosphere hovered around the place. Even if the place looked very much isolated and weary, Jaejoong couldn’t complain. It was decent and the only inhabitant area around- or so he thought.
“Hotel 0?” He read off the old hanging board, the golden letters ‘el’ from hotel already fading away on the wooden surface. His looming gaze soon finding disinterest in the area once a gust of wind harshly blew passed him and he had no other choice but to rush inside.
Opening the door, he quickly slammed it behind him; the halls of the interior echoed his not-so-grand entrance as the room automatically lit up different sets of light bulbs. The first things that greeted him were the sight of couches, artificial plants and a front check-in desk, which he could only assume was the lobby.
Slowly, Jaejoong observed the dull Christmas decorations hanging around the room, some multi-colored lights blinking at some areas of the front desk where a miniature decorated Christmas tree sat idly. He stepped closer, scanning the walls and thought how they contrast so differently from the outside. Then, he felt something tug at his side.
“Oppa, are you lost?” Jaejoong nearly squeaked at the new voice however, he tripped over a nearby couch instead. He gasped and watched the newcomer, which happens to be a little girl staring with her huge eyes at his pretty face, tug at his shirt again. “Oppa?”
“U-uh…C-can I help you?” Jaejoong stuttered horribly and the little girl didn’t notice at all. Obviously, it frighten Jaejoong to see a little girl dressed in a Lolita dress, ribbons tied in her hair and holding a teddy bear in her other arm. Her expression looked as if it was a real life size doll and one would probably think she was one if she stood still for no more than five seconds.
“Do you want to play with us, Oppa?” She gleamed at Jaejoong with a bright smile as if she just received some sweet candy.
“Uh…no thanks.” Jaejoong tensed. He didn’t question who the little girl was referring to as ‘us’ and did nothing but watch her lips instantly forming a frown as she brought her teddy bear closer. He mentally slapped himself from deflating the little girl’s enthusiasm. “So… what’s your name?”
As if the little girl wasn’t fazed at all, her expression lit up within a flash of a smile and Jaejoong almost flinched.
“Miyoung. What’s yours, Oppa?”
“Jaejoong.”
“Do you want to stay with me, my Umma and Tedsu’s room?”
“Um… Tedsu?” Immediately answering Jaejoong’s question, Miyoung held up her teddy bear. “This is Tedsu” and smiled cheekily whilst hugging the teddy bear the next.
Jaejoong found it utterly cute how Miyoung was still nothing less of a child, even with the frozen face of a doll; he had the sudden urge to pinch her small chubby cheeks.
“You say… you live here with your Umma?” Miyoung nodded. “Where is she?”
Quietly fiddling with Tedsu’s dress, Miyoung answered Jaejoong not-so-quietly.
“Room 0!” She cheered and Jaejoong watched as her smile grew with just the thought of where her mother was. It sort of made Jaejoong think of his own family for a moment, however, he brushed away the feeling before his emotions got the best of him.
“Wher-“
“May I help you, sir?”
This time, Jaejoong screamed. It was a new voice and undoubtedly, a deeper tone coming from right behind him.
Fuck, what is with everyone sneaking up on him.
Frantically, he jumped to the other side of the dusty couch and turned around just in time to see a formally dressed tanned- skin handsome man in a suit looming his gaze at him. His eyes widen when he found the other man staring back at him and yelp “W-who are you?!”
Taking that as his cue, the man in the suit spoke. “Jung Yunho, your host and guide of ‘Hotel 0.’ Is there anything I may I help you with, sir?” He enumerates but for some reason the look on his face made it seem like he was referring to something else. He pushed his hat up and Jaejoong probably wouldn’t have noticed it nor would he notice the other man’s chocolate brown hair styled with gel and the tapping of the man’s polished shoes. If he found this man in Seoul, Jaejoong would possibly take another thought before approaching the said man.
“Sir?” The man called impatiently and Jaejoong snapped out of his train of thoughts, nearly forgetting that he was in a hotel on a deserted dirt road. “A-ah yeah, I need help and I think Miyoung ne-“
Gone. He looked around, the little girl who was only there a few minutes ago had suddenly disappeared from Jaejoong’s sight and without a trace left behind. It was almost like she wasn’t there to begin with.
“Miyoung?” He called, searching for any hints or presence he could find. “Miyoung!”
Maybe she went back to her room, he thought sadly.
A cough and a ahem came after, grabbing Jaejoong’s attention back to the host. “Do you plan to stay the night? It is really cold tonight and we’re recently lost our telephone connec-“
“Wait, wait. You have a telephone connection here?” He interrupted the host, who in turn nodded. “It’s disconnected, sir.”
Dejected, Jaejoong grasped the phone in his pocket and swallowed the lump in his dry throat. “Is there any way to the city from here? - maybe another resting spot?”
The host clicked his tongue and Jaejoong noticed the mole above his lips. “There is a trolley bus that comes here every month to replenish our stock and supply.”
Jaejoong stared at him, hope washing over his face.
“However…” The host paused, licking his lips, which Jaejoong found it highly distracting “the last trolley left three days ago.”
Inwardly, Jaejoong cursed his life. The many situations he had gone and pulled through, be it fashionable looks and business, he couldn’t escape this forsaken place. How was he supposed to get out of here now? Wait three and a half more weeks for the next trolley or travel on his own with nothing except his useless gadgets. If he didn’t know better or for a lack of a term, have common sense, he’d obviously choose the latter.
“Please consider waiting for the next trolley, sir. There’s a storm coming and it’s much too complicated to leave this place on your own. Why don’t you book a room?” The host, Yunho suggested, as if pleading for Jaejoong to make himself at home.
“Fine” Jaejoong gave in and sighed. “On second thought, can you lead me to Room 0?” If he couldn’t find any help in this hotel, maybe he could ask Miyoung if she knew anything he could do for the meantime. “I-I met someone there.”
“Oh, you mean the new room 0? Splendid choice, sir. Now follo-“
“N-new Room? H-hold up. Isn’t there someone living in Room 0 right now?” Jaejoong yelled, panic surged in his blood and he felt the chills rattle in his bones. He could feel his stomach welling up with fear and he gulped unconsciously.
This can’t be happening.
The host gave him wearily confused look before he respond.
“I am not sure what you’re talking about sir, but nobody lives in Room 0.”
A/N: Somewhat of a cliché end for chapter 1 but it would be incredibly longer if I didn’t stop here. OTL If you find this theme familiar, it’s because I somewhat based the setting on a V6(jpop group) film “Hold up down” which revolved around Christmas and some weird creepy events but nonetheless a very humorous movie. Watch it if you’re in for the laugh however, it’s very unlike this story^^; Hopefully, I didn’t write this as bad as I hope. Comments, questions and criticism are welcome!
