ASMP 1Q2010 and Lifetime Sales Numbers

Apr 16, 2010 13:49

With the IPR 1Q2010 numbers that came in recently, I decided to take a look at the numbers (as of 3/31/2010).

Here, have some data ( behind the cut )

mnpr-rpg, dead inside, mad rpg theory, asmp, zoz, gaming, s7s, pdq, truth-and-justice, sales

So T&J is the most popular? It's my favourite, too. But I guess if Turtlezilla is any indication, more T&J stuff might not necessarily be profitable?

(Just looking at numbers and money here.)

Yup. This is one reason that I go back and forth so much on whether to do any more supplements for anything, or to do 2nd editions of any of these games.

I'm not sure it's a wise use of time/money.

Fred's S7S numbers are pretty strong! And T&J has cracked the magic "indie-serious" figure of 1K units. I do feel that there's enough T&J awareness and interest out there to turn a second edition into four-figure sales counts. In particular, apply the S7S duelling rules to the fighty parts of T&J, and people will, I'm convinced, come running.

But as we say on the internet: IMHO.

BTW, I know of an actual T&J campaign occurring in the wild. One of the gaming buddies in our current Polaris campaign is running T&J for another group.

It sounds like this is making good progress. I think you're seeing some "long tail" effect here, since the older stuff keeps selling. What you have is unique -- people play it and get others hooked, who then look it up.

Well, if I could throw money at you, I'd request that you do a 2nd edition of Dead Inside.
