PDQ# Numbers

Dec 22, 2008 19:23

Intriguingly, over 707 people have downloaded the free PDQ# (PDQ Sharp!) from the OneBookshelf sites (DriveThruRPG and RPGNow).

Please recall that PDQ# is the underlying system "guts" for S7S and contains zero setting info.

This number doesn't include direct downloads from the ASMP website... yet.

I think S7S will do respectably even without this, but the ability to direct-email even a third of those folks will be pretty potent when the PDF release happens.

The economy is a challenge ... fewer people are buying books; but more people are out of work and bored, or anxious and desiring a distraction, both of which lend themselves well to marathon gaming. And after you've played D&D and its zillion clones for a decade or so, you start looking for something new. So that's encouraging.

If you need a reviewer for this one, I'm open. I've got a new blog for reviews and publishing/author/etc. news at:

I could repost my earlier reviews of Dead Inside and Truth & Justice there, shortly before the release of S7S, to raise interest. Maybe do a little mini-interview with you, if you'd like a platform for talking about the new game's development.

I'll be buying it. PDF at least and hopefully PDF and print. I prefer to do my buying through IPR, just so's ya know. This and Dresden RPG are on my must-have 2009 list along with SIFRP.

You might want to glance at Archangelbeth's numbers if you haven't already. She posts running tallies of sales of In Nomine products. The free ones are downloaded a bit over an order of magnitude more often than the best-selling non-free ones.
