Some people dream about being rich, others dream about being carefree.
I was told by a "sweeper", don't dream. Just do it.

Just follow through and change course to make it work along the way.
Maybe switch to a bigger goal along the way too.

at the end of the day, what's importnat is that you can go to bed feeling accomplished and peaceful, knowing that the next day is one step closer to that dream.
but questions to ask is, is the dream worth realising in the first place? if yes, how are you going to reach it? and last but not least, who will be there at the end of the journey to enjoy this dream with?
hugs..

You are right when you said that during the course of the day, we should make things happen instead of building castles in the air. People tend to be too overwhelmed by their dreams and end up just thinking about it and not doing anything.
However, I disagree on the 'feel accomplished, hence have dreamless nights' part, which I thought it should be 'feel accomplished, so can dream bigger and more realistic achieveable goals'.
I do not think what that guy said ends up pulling you down from what you believe. Do you mean he shattered your dreams? I think he did not, based on what you wrote, and instead I thought he was being real in telling you to take action and have the macro view in things, instead of dulling in the smaller minor stuff.

If you keep following up on your dreams on the macro scale. I don't think you can sleep well. Furthermore, stress level will be high and happiness just can't stand beside you in this case. For you are not contented with the processing steps to your dreams.
The sweeper didn't shatter my dreams. He set me thinking. I have re-evaluated my thoughts and now looking at a broader macro perspective. I always like talking to people from different fields and levels. They help broaden my horizon and grow.
We can never learn everything in any stage of life. We must re-evaluate others perspective and take in what can do us good.

First you say looking at things on a macro level is not good because it equates to increment in stress level and greed.
Then you say you have re-evaluated your thoughts and through adoption of macro perspectives, it allows you to grow.
Anyway, my reply earlier has nothing to do with being contented or not.
