Then R2 came around and Takahiro Sakurai got to... sound like Takahiro Sakurai. Which made Suzaku a lot hotter. :p

Maybe because you don't actually need to go out of your comfort zone to enjoy it? Maybe because the brain the largest and most powerful sexual organ in our bodies? Maybe because imaginary sex somehow makes the whole experience of sex much more epic than it is IRL? Not that my RL!sex isn't good, it's just not especially fireworks-worthy, as it probably is for most people. It's just... sex? The sex-in-my-head (aka fills on here and other places) kind of fills the void for epic sex.
That doesn't mean I don't also like real sex, just that I wouldn't ever really trade in one for the other entirely. Can't see why you can't have both!

I just felt a little weird knowing that much about imaginary-yaoi-bishonen!sex and even any epic!sex with fireworks, and next to nothing about the other thing, but now I won't.

I'm never really sure how to deal with this question. I'm asexual, and honestly not turned on by RL or imaginary sex. This makes me an excellent beta reader for porn because, while everyone else is fanning themselves, I'm noticing the use of "than" instead of "then". :p
That being said, I do love kinkmeme fics for the quality of dialogue and the variety of stories. Watching porn? Less quality. RL sex? Looks messy.

IMHO:
-she's the only known person to be able to tease CC and get under her skin(and, pay attention, not vice versa). So, self-confident, very good at reading and manipulating people.
-she's a pervert/voyeur type like Milly/Kaguya.
-posesses acting skills
-has steel nerves and backbone
-she's made it from a commoner to an Empress.
Suzaku's dream come true. So she is stubborn(as much as Lelouch) and determined, and persistent and patient.
-Knows how to use her female charms to her advantage.
-Had been warped by her ghost-like state. Before it she as well really could have been a loving mother. Afterwards, she became even more detached from any kind of moralty
-arrogant.
- extremely loyal to Charles. A Knight before a wife sort of way.

Let´s see: VV is stuck in 10-years old body forever(Claudia, yes. I actually thought VV was a girl when I saw him first time). No sex, only cgkinkimeme maybe. And here goes Charles: falls for someone and dedicates her more attention/plays a family man. Of course, VV slowly goes nuts over the thing! His beloved twin paying someone more attention to someone than to their masterplan/VV himself.
Imagine Rolo's frustration over Lelouch's love to Nunnally as another example of this kind of jealousy.

I've seen/collected ideas(disclaimer: not mine, not all of them):
1)Speed boost, like Alice in that manga, Nightmare of Nunnally.
2)Making people think like him somehow. Actually, Suzaku does want everyone to act according to his ideals, but how would we translate it into a Geass? What a mind hack, even worse than Lelouch's.
3)again from the manga, reading tides of the battlefield/lines of future(like Bismark's, only applied to a wide range).
4)Something like a tactical display in his head? Knowing the locations of his opponents? Since he's a tactician?
R2-verse:
5) Geass canceller, only to mess with Lelouch, obviously
6)Geass disruption - like Rolo's, area-wise, prevents Geass users from activating their abilities
Which fits his personality better? At which point could he have gotten it?
Would VV have coerced him? or CC?

That being said, I think the type is almost a moot point, since Suzaku hates geass so much he'd never use it if he could help it. A power like Mao's that's not within his control, however...

Ironically, I think this is why he'd be a good person to have as a commander. He'd never abuse his powers and he'd live the "King must lead" strategy Lelouch goes by.
