Hee, I'm so giddy over the new Heroes, I need something to get me off this high!

And, hee, Rayne!

Not just any rayne but my favorite kind, ceslas!Rayne!

And, oh, one of my favorite songs!

His scent; male, warm, salt, earth, spice.
Earth rounds him out gorgeously, as it would any tracker of Jayne's skill. You know my feelings on Jayne/River as the physical/emotional aspects of existence so I won't go into it here but you drew it out here, just in the use of the word "earth," you know? Life and death, new growth out of the old, a new beginning out of the old winter cold.

Crap, I'm so damn wordy and wired and twitchy right now, sorry.

hard-soft
Perfect - truly, deeply perfect.

No math could define that.
Dude, River admits that math can't help here - oh, gah, gorgeous.

Became the shape that would satisfy it.

I'm in love with that line.

Your poetic descriptions of Jayne through River's eyes are lovely, the small details, like the hair curling at the nape of his neck. Wee!

Painting a dark and detailed picture. I see most parts and they mix together very well.

I've got to apologise I'm still catching up on things that were posted while I was gone.

I love River's view of Jayne and how she still smelt him when he was gone. The last paragraph is really beautiful and depicts their relationship so well :)

More please...

Thank you, it was a piece that slipped in sideways as it is not entirely a fictional situation.

Some things linger even when a person is not present and scent is one of them in my experience.

I am glad it reflected them so well, it is always gratifying to know they shine through the words.

This is a great story. alexis_laforge December 15 2007, 06:21:00 UTC
And, oy, it seems to be a long time since we've heard from you. Hate that I lost contact with so many folks during the craziness of the whole of last semester.

Hope you're doing well. Happy holidays.
