The smoke monster was trapped by the light and Unnamed Brother's body jiggled it free? Does anyone know?Someone on my FL said that MIB became the smoke monster, citing something he said about "the Devil" robbing him of his body and soul. Also, Smokey tends to take on the personality traits of the people he's impersonating, so ... at that time, he was still more like the unnamed brother

as for what it's all about? i have no idea. jacob seems petty and selfish. MIB seems...well, just plain selfish, but with better reasons. knowledge.
i like knowledge seekers better than i like the faithful.
i'm hoping the knowledge seeking spirit of the MIB became one with THE LIGHT and that's what created the smoke monster.
ya know...i've always thought the smoke monster was mostly good. and jacob was mostly evil.

im very afraid that whatever the answer is, is not going to meet my expectations! :)

Usually when I watch an episode of Lost, I'm just resigned to the fact that I will understand nothing more by the end. But this episode, it made me ANGRY that I didn't understand anything. I don't know why really. I do have more sympathy to the MIB now, since really he's just a victim of his mother's lies. It'd be nice to know why she did what she did, though...

I don't think of either brother as good or evil.

The young MIB was SO pretty! Also, so unfair that he didn't have a name. Who only gives one twin a name??? That's crazy.

I'm not even sure that Jacob is the good one anymore. This show makes my head spin.
