I kind of went on a self-imposed LJ exile for a week or so - not really sure why, but it's over now and I'm about to go check the flist and say hello to everyone. :) Late comments, FTW!

I'm feeling increasingly frustrated by my job, which is becoming more and more like data entry... Not to mention the zero job security of it. I think the main ( Read more... )

I hate when a degree feels useless (or, in your case, the job you have with the degree does). MAs in September FTW!!! Reading lists should definitely help until then. That's how I keep my brain from atrophying.

I completely understand and relate to the frustration you're feeling regarding your current job. I don't give a damn about computers, to be quite honest, yet I've been part of an ICT Helpdesk team for over a year. I answer telephone calls, log technical faults, and mess around with Excel databases, so I'm certainly not putting my degree to good use, either. My job is so incredibly dull, boring, uninteresting, and monotonous that I can practically feel my brain cells dying. It makes me feel quite depressed at the moment.

Your photographs are yet another reminder of why I need to move away from the North West of England. During the summer months, when other parts of the country are experiencing a rare spot of sunshine, the weather is grey and overcast. During the winter months, when other parts of the country are covered in a thick blanket of snow, we only receive a few flakes of the white stuff. The skies are grey here... all of the bloody time!

I think you've had a worse situation than me, so full kudos to you for making it so long! :) Hang in there a bit longer, I know we'll both find what we're looking for. :)

Aww, well, the snow here was such a huge fluke - it won't happen for another 20 years. ;) It's mostly just kind of overcast? The weather is very boring here. :P
