Why is it awesome: Castle
I know everyone's all a'flutter about Yuletide (rightfully so!), but I've had a crappy day, and need to squee a little. So I am resurrecting the Why is it awesome? series.
Castle. Why is it awesome? I'll start.
Castle is awesome because Rick Castle is a grown-up. No, hear me out. He's presented as a kind of Peter Pan man-boy, but he's not. He's a guy who has enough money to buy cool toys and enough time to play with them, but in the things that really matter, he's responsible and thoughtful. One of the best moments of the Season Two premiere is when he sincerely apologizes to Kate, not because he thinks it'll get him back in her graces, but because he realizes he was wrong, and she deserves to know that.
Also? Castle is That Guy. Calling Paige's parents was not the Cool Dad thing to do. It was the Good Dad thing to do. And he's not dumb enough not to realize that some of the shit for that would fall on Alexis, but he did it anyway, because it was the right thing to do.
