Yeah, that's the only explanation that makes sense. Even though he didn't really seem suicidal at the beginning when it wasn't a terminal cancer with constant puking and pain diagnosis. Also I don't think a trained assistance dog would have just eaten dropped awithout an okay from its owner. I mean, I don't know much about them, but dropping things that are not okay for dogs to eat has to be a fairly common thing for people with mobility problems, and many people even train normal pet dogs against eating random stuff so that they don't poison themselves accidentally.

Yeah, it was just very strange that no one brought up why the patient hadn't mentioned not taking the pills.

I'm just drifting by friends friends, but the theory my roommate posited in re: the patient not taking the pills was simply that the other doctors swooped in before 13 had brought the patient his water, and he'd forgotten about the medication in the chaos of getting treated by, like, twenty people. It was carelessness on the doctor's part, not suicidal tendencies on the patient's part that were to blame, I think.

It was so chaotic at that point I don't think any of the people in the room were quite aware of what was going on. I almost thought that she stepped over to the table to get the water taking the pills with her and then put everything down to fend off the other doctors. And at that point everyone kind of forgot what was going on. I thought the chewed up cup under the table suggested that the dog was bored and had chewed on the cup, accidentally swallowing the pills.

So... While it was specifically #13's job to get the guy to take the pills, I kind of blame House for creating such a competitive environment that the patient was forgotten - and the situation went downhill because it became based on the false premise that he had taken the pills.

I'm still just surprised no one asked why the patient didn't say something. I mean, I'm kind of forgetful, but I think even I would remember, "Hey, wait a sec."

I was wondering all episode if the poor man had taken the pills, because I wasn't sure if he could do it without some assistance. I do suspect that they got forgotten and knocked down in the chaos that reigned in his hospital room pretty much the whole time.

I loved that he enjoyed the slanting table thing!

Man, I would LOVE to know how to train a dog not to eat whatever appears in front of his flat widdle nose...
