Hardwood charcoal

So I got a bag of the hardwood charcoal for my grill today. I've been using this Cowboy stuff for a few years now. It's always been basically wood remnants, perfect pieces of or blocks of wood from building projects. Well, I opened the bag this time and it's all tree wood. Pieces of branches and stuff, some with bark on them. Not at all the same as
