Battling the Closet

*For batsonian and anyone else who likes to look at baby clothes: this post inadvertently turned into a mini-guide to my favorite baby clothes, so enjoy!

We cleaned out Piper's closet today. I put eight pairs of never-worn shoes into the give-away pile. Er, rather the "What the Fuck Do I Do With All This Shit Now?" bin. The WtFDIDWATSN bin is currently ( Read more... )

I LOOOOOOVE Babylegs!!! I have a black pair with white skulls on them I can't wait for D to wear.

I am guilty of buying Carters outfits from Kohls...with frogs on them!!! But that's much more infant boy conducive than baby girl.

Um, yeah, and I'm pretty sure that not EVERYTHING you buy has frogs on it. My mom likes frogs, therefore almost everything she buys for P has frogs on it. Last time she visited she brought a shorts outfit - with frogs on the shirt; a tank top with frogs on it, a frog hat, and a frog toy.

As sexist as it sounds, it's way more fun to dress baby girls than baby boys. Most of the boy stuff has them either looking like they're playing golf or auditioning for elf-duty at the mall.

Babylegs were THE BEST when Piper was a newborn - she was so tiny, nothing fit. We put her in some preemie/newborn onesies and Babylegs (folded double on the inside over her skinny chicken legs) for the first few weeks and it was so cute! The tiny onesies were awesome - we used our inkjet printer and transfer paper to make cool iron-ons. Here are some of them:

Next time I'm going to spring for the good-quality transfer paper, though.

and I forgot to add that Tea Collection is great!!! It's a lot of the same JCrew/Banana Republic style stuff that I love for myself but in WAY better prices than their kids' lines.

My brother did stop my mother from buying baby clothes. He has also stopped her from making unscheduled visits (they live 20 miles apart), from giving any small random gifts, and if he should come across her in his home town, he immediately accuses her of being there to TRY TO CROWD THE BABY O NOES ( ... )

That all sounds extremely unreasonable - what is going on in your brother's head?!
