Ugh. I got it relatively early - only a little swelling and heat around the bulbs of his heels, but ugh. I ended up not riding today to go easy on him. Clipped his fetlocks to keep them as dry as possible, and zinc'd him to within an inch of his life.

poor champ. we are having a late indian summer here... 110+ the past few days, and into tomorrow. ick. A nice rain storm sounds good right about now

The good news is that the last 3 days have been sunny, and everything's drying up pretty quickly - until the next storm, that is.

I discovered them on Saturday and suspected them Friday but couldn't tell for all the the mud covering his legs. Fuck. He's never had them before. Stupid fucking province with it's fucked up weather and retarded-weird mud.
