An update about the Dodge Stealth that Martino bought back in September.Long story short, the guy said "aww, that's too bad," and refused to do anything about it. We issued a letter of demand to them and told them we would be pursuing the matter in court ( Read more... )

very nicely worded.

*purchaseD* in the first line.

Nice letter, I think it was to the point. Frankly, fuck the stealth, you guys should go for these people. Too bad it's Martino's decision, I'm with you!

I'm fully of the mindset that everyone has to do their part to improve the community and the people in it, and that includes reporting people like this!

Good catch, thanks!

Heh, yeah, that's why I feel like at least siccing Justice on them, let them deny and squirm under the investigators. Contrary to what I said in the letter, Justice isn't calling us back - they already did when we first spoke to them and Martino gave them a "we'll get back to you", since he wanted to keep it as an ace in the hole when we filed, giving them the opportunity to man up first, but they didn't. At the very least they can marinate the with knowledge in their mind that they may have to deal with them, and it might at least keep this guy on the downlow for awhile. I figure at least report them and let the chips fall where they may.

I felt a little bad at the harsh tone I used because for all I know this chick is an innocent bystander in the whole deal, but the way I see it if she's fully aware of what her asshole boyfriend is doing then it makes her just as bad as him!

I just hope that the message is clear enough for even a cantankerous person to get the picture. Appreciate, bitch!

Fuck this letter and take them to small claims. What the hell is your letter going to do? Nothing. They will just do it again and again until they're caught. Danny and I had to take his old landlord to small claims, and he denied it all the way, until he didn't show up to court and got slapped with a huge fine. They won't learn until it hits them where it hurts. Thier pocketbook.

You know, that's what I've been saying all along, but quite frankly I've been dragging his not inconsiderable weight through this whole thing. I had to write the letter of demand, I had to make him print it, I had to make him deliver it. I had to have a mechanic look at the car. I had to explain every step that he would have to do from this point on ( ... )

The first thing that jumps out at me is that the second sentence doesn't say there was even a problem before the third sentence says you're not pursing legal action. It reads like, "We bought a car from you. You're lucky we're not suing you!" Heh heh! Just thought I'd point that out, even though you both know that there WAS a problem and exactly what it was. This doesn't matter unless you ARE going to sue them and this letter will be included in the evidence.

Following up on your reply to fyreuni, I assume you haven't even gotten that $800 yet? And they know that you've dropped the pursuit now? If I were you, I'd have some fun with them even if you aren't ultimately going to take them to court. Instead of saying what you COULD but AREN'T doing, why not threaten them and make them shake in their boots, even if you're not going to follow up on it? Let me try taking out the "if we had" bits and see how it sounds:

"When the vehicle failed on our drive home, we had it inspected to determine the cause of failure. There is something ( ... )

(CONTINUED)

Still, we have a full two years within which we are able to submit a claim and take this to court, so he does still have plenty of time to change his mind, just so that you’re aware. I think that we should at the very least give Justice your boyfriend’s information anyway and let them do as they will with it, while my husband wants to just walk away and be done with this whole thing. I guess is all depends on whether I answer the phone or he does when Justice calls back ( ... )

Yeah, they already know about our intent to pursue legal action because we sent them a letter of demand saying so.

After reading this I thought a lot about it and figured that maybe the letter AND an updated letter of demand for the reversal of the sale would be the way to go, but... well... complications have arisen. I'm too pissed to write about it now, but will update shortly.

And yes, the dollar sign after numbers is French - it's the way I've learned. It looks freaking weird to me on the left side and doesn't make sense - you owe dollars 80!

That really is good news! I can't wait to see them!!!
