I need to sit down and devote proper time to your last few entries (read through the first one, up to mounting, and then was all "aw MAN, that's it?" ;)), but I had to comment on their similarities, again. I miss my big guy, too! Your bond is apparent. Looks like you both had a blast!
Lol, I just knew that those first few especially looked quite a bit like Buck and would remind you of him! It still shocks me how similar their blazes are!
Heh, I honestly can't blame anyone for not bothering to read my entries. They always get so damned long! Lol, oh wait, I forgot who I'm talking to! I figure your fingernails must be worn down to nubs for how much you've been typing lately!
Lightning is so cute!! He looks great even when as out of shape as he is, I bet he was a stunner when he was fit and all spiffied up:) That's so awesome!! How come he isn't out in Sk with you right now?
Lol, I know, he's kind of a shaggy, potbellied beast at the moment!
Right now I can only afford to keep one horse out here. I wanted to bring Lightning, but Champ really needed a lot of work, so it made the most sense to bring him out first. Lightning is basically retired, and with his Navicular condition the way it is I really don't know how much work he'll be able to do and still stay sound. So I brought Champ out to put the miles on him, and sometime this spring/summer I plan on bringing Lightning out.
Awwwww. I was smiling the whole video. So great that your mom took pics and video for you and that she understands how much that stuff means. Ivan is too cute just standing there waiting, lol.
Heh, between your entries and meupatdoes I'm really realizing what an awesome mom I have when it comes to horses. She's of the same blood, so she totally understands on all fronts. Hell, the whole ride that day was her idea! She had just gotten a yearly membership to the Ag. Arena and as soon as she realized that she could bring guest for a small fee, she was all "you can take Lightning down there and go for a ride!" Instead of worrying for my safety she's laughing at mishaps, and has sat in the hospital with me with typical nonchalance. Hell, she even drove the 1400km (round trip) to bring me Champ, and never even asked for a penny in fuel money. I love my mommy!
My mom SHOULD understand the horse gene, she rode when she was younger.
She didn't want me getting Jules, but a few months after I got him it looked like financially it wouldn't work, and she just begged me to keep him and realized how important he was for me to be happy.
She also dropped like, $4k to move him to BC for me......
...but at this moment, mommy and I haven't spoken in over a week. Grandfather issues again *grumble*
I get the middle ground. My mom understands but isn't involved. At least no grief about the horses.....
See? This is why I still get the urge to cry when I think about how I can't ever jump him again, and why I want him out here so bad! I don't think I'll ever, in the rest of my life, be able to afford a horse that could compare to him. I don't know what I did right in life to deserve having a horse like him literally fall into my lap, but I'm so thankful for it!
Lol, and his trot may look nice, but even when it's slower and balanced into a proper working trot it's hell to sit to. I mean, indescribably hard. Had my riding instructor placing bets with her upper level dressage friends that they couldn't sit his trot kind of hard.
I haven't seen too many Jules entries lately? What's he doing right now that's making him unrideable?

Jules stands there like Ivan, but the moron is basically unrideable.
I'm seriously jealous. YOur trot after 2 years of the field is better than Jules' and I in the middle of show season :/
So cute!
