Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

This movie suffers the same fate that so many other movie franchises have suffered when there has been a long period between a new one. Not that it is bad, but that peoples expectations are far to high. They are remembering the old movies in a golden light and expect something of the new which probably even the old movies never matched ( Read more... )

i must say, i enjoyed this movie but i walked out disappointed, if you had never watched indie before then this was a pretty good movie but i did ask myself continuously "what were you thinking georgey??" over the ants and the aliens, it was so frustrating that they opted for this "cop-out crowd pleaser" they tried to be clever, i personally believe they failed, its an interesting idea but it didnt work, i got very excited about the russians and the paranormal route they took (as lots of evidence supports that they did attempt this route in the cold war) but it quickly fell on its face, its true that crystal skulls were found etc... but why oh why did they go the alien route??? even the little things in this movie relating to the aliens got annoying (like why did the previous explorers only take the one skull?, why didnt the aliens leave before the skull was removed etc ( ... )

The question I ask myself is "Do I want to watch it ever again"? All the previous movies I will watch again (soon, most likely). This film I have zero desire to see any of ever again.

It's an action movie, and I found the action set pieces boring. I think National Treasure was a more entertaining movie, and that was bad. When a movie that is a two bit knock of your movie ends up being better than a sequel you've pushed too far.

From the inexplicable marmots to the nuclear explosion refridgerator escape to the lame vine swinging to the overused spielbergian aliens to the depressingly dull wedding...this film failed on all levels. It was a miss step at every turn.

I have to disagree as per reasons given previously.

And you cannot say I am a great speilberg fan, if you go back to my review of War of the Worlds you will see that most certainly is not the case.

I felt this had all the elements needed for a Indy movie and it entertained, I would happily watch it again.

National Treasure 2 would not touch with a barge pole the first was bad enough and trailers for this looked worse. Typical jingoistic crap which incredibly huge historical inaccuracies and portrayals of non Americans in a poor light. I have seen and heard clips of him and others trying to put on a as you americans call "British Accent" for comedic effect and I just have to shake my head as nobody, not a single person speaks like so many Americans think we do in this very strange accent that sounds a little posh and camp and just weird.
