Hey!I'm glad that you are still updating this, I'm enjoying it a lot. So regarding your question... out of line? not at all. IMO it's a good thing that you're making the development on the girl's friendship first since they need the trust (specially on Quinn's side) to be able to handle the whole abusive situation. In fact I'm glad that Quinn decided to gave up and stop pushing Rachel away because protective!Rachel is the best :)

So happy to hear that it seemed a natural progression, because I'm in total agreement- protective!Rachel is beyond fantastic =) I can't wait to be able to write more of her!

I thought this was a beautiful chapter and needed. Quinn can't run forever, she has to let Rachel in at some point. Not sure why you would be torn about this chapter. This is such a sad but beautiful story. If it moves me to tears it must be on the right track!!

I think this chapter falls into the storyline perfectly. Its best to develop the Faberry friendship before moving them onto more serious ground. I think its true to the Quinn character, she would have to be really comfortable with someone before she really opened up to them. I think your Quinn is better written that what they do with her on the show. I love your Rachel! This is just moving so fabulously into Faberry Epicness. I am so eager to read what happens next. =)

I'm not sure whether the thing about writing her better than they do on the show is a backhanded compliment or not, given how they've decimated her this past season ;-)

I think you're doing great with progression and development. I don't think it's out of line. As the before comments said, I think Quinn would have to be completely comfortable with someone in order to open up to them. So, yeah :)

I am completely in love with this story, and I can't wait until the next part! (That Carly Simon song, "Anticipation" is going through my head, lol.)

No, I don't think this is out of line...we need some progress.

They need to talk this out...Quinn is finally deciding that she feels safe with Rachel and that that's better than avoiding her.

Also, I think Quinn obviously feels "more" for Rachel. The fact that she was willing to keep putting up with abuse to protect Rachel is very telling. That plus the fact that, as you referred to, she had just recently been torturing Rachel. She was trying to supress her feelings.

She needs to lay it all out now, I think. And, she needs to tell Rachel that she was trying to protect her.

Can't wait!

Hahaha progress is good, but oh-so-difficult to write...

There will be lots of talking in the next chapter, because I really do need to start moving this fic forward if I'm going to have any chance of ever finishing it! =)
