So, apparently I never talked about these books when I read them. Which isn't all that surprising, actually. I haven't made it a secret that I was... slightly disappointed in these books.
I was disappointed with the books as well (mainly the last book actually) and I've always felt in the minority about that. While I never really considered the things you bring up here, S, I couldn't agree more. From the books you get the sense that Peeta is the more emotional of the two, so it would make sense to tell it from his POV if you were doing it in first person. But that wouldn't really work from a narrative standpoint. Hmm..
The random jumps in time annoyed me as well. I really wanted to see the victory tour of all the districts in full. It would have expanded her world a little more and have made the Capitol privilege all the more apparent. I could be alone in that, though.
I am in some ways really excited for the films even though I didn't completely love the books. Maybe the director will change things for the better? I don't particularly care for some of the casting choices though, especially Gale and Peeta. Now Lenny Kravitz as Cinna? Yes please and thank you. I feel like there are a lot of places where the
