This was so pretty/so sad. It's early morning for me so I just went and curled up with my sleepy dog for a while. He's ten, and he's everything in the whole word.

It was such a nice snapshot of all three of them, Arthur and Eames and Rat. I've never owned a cat, but I know plenty of them; one who I used to pet-sit for weekly just had to be put down a few months ago. She was a cranky thing, the kind you couldn't pet if you wanted all your fingers, but she was insanely loyal to her owner and would become a cuddly purrball when she was around. :) I imagine this cat to have been the same way (poor James!).

Rat was very cranky in her old age. ^_^ And yet, very affectionate to me, especially towards the end.

I'm weeping like a baby right now, just because it hurt to think about losing an animal. I've lived all my life with dogs, cats, turtles, fish (and I still do today), and I cried every time one of them had to go away.

They are just so full of love and life. It really was like losing a brother.

I really enjoyed reading this, it was so sweet and melancholic and I swear I started tearing up when Eames was in the hospital! (I'm not good with drama, not good at all...)

I deeply feel your loss. When I was reading this, my kitten was in my lap, purring, and I hugged her, because I think the biggest regret is when you think you never gave them enough love. I swear she enjoy Arthur/Eames fics because she's always with me when I read them, hmmm...

This morning, I dreamt of my cat, who died 10 years ago, and as every time I dream of him, I know it is the only place where I can see him still enjoy being with him (this has a strange resonance in this Inception universe we are into, but itis utterly true), waking up with a mix of sorrow and happiness. So you can understand why your text just made me cry... I hope for you than one day soon you will find Rat back in your dreams and manage to be happy seeing her again.

Gah, tears.

I lost my beautiful bunny, Jack, early this year to a really horrible virus called myxomatosis, so this hit home! I'm no good with pet loss. Probably worse than with humans.

::hughug:: I'm so sorry about Jack. I know what you mean about being worse with losing pets than with humans--my aunt passed only a week before I had to take Rat in, and that didn't devastate me the way Rat's death did.
