Updates to The Chambered Heart and Book Lists

Twelve days of school left, and then I can return to the world of my dreams where all day long I write. It's like a special kind of heaven. Dear Universe: help me to remember that every year ends like this. Help me to remain calm, to keep my temper, and end this year with grace.

Woot for a great teaching partner. Are those books the only fiction for the year, or supplemental?

This is all supplemental. I'm a firm believer in novel study for building reading endurance, but they have to read them outside of class and complete literary analysis work in class and as homework that will tie in with lessons in class. (I am such a teaching dork!)

We will also be studying a poem called The Witch, excerpts from Flowers From Algernon, Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom, the play of The Diary of Anne Franke, and Doris Lessing's Through the Tunnel.
