So all and all I can't help and keep on looking back at the Ohayocon threads everywhere. I know that there was a bunch of people who were upset that they only had 16 awards given out. I know for a fact that I really did want Melissa's group to win. I really did. But like I don't know how the judges score so I don't know the details and

Found item wasn't a problem to me, I've done it plenty myself if I have found something I could modify for cheaper than making it from scratch. Its the original design category that I think is taking too much away from contest. I really have not seen anything entered into original design section that makes me want that area to continue. I would have rather those original design awards instead of gone to novice/journeyman cosplayers who had faithfully re-created something.

Found item is debatable though I don't have a problem with it. I didn't stick around to see the specifics on awards, but I did hang around outside the door to see if anyone I knew got one so I could congratulate them appropriately. And from my point of view they had plenty of awards.

I don't understand why people would be complaining there weren't enough awards. Maybe because while I don't actually enter the cosplay competition, I still view it as a competition and think 16 awards is plenty-fine for a competition, unless you're screwing kids out of awards or something. Even if they had to sacrifice Judge's awards I think the ones they had this year were enough. Honestly, if they had the Judge's awards there'd STILL be bitching about it. Either complaining about too many awards, people playing favorites, etc.

But hell, since I have no intention of trying to win awards by cosplaying, I really shouldn't be saying anything.
