Being Good

Dec 05, 2006 18:22

I was at Target today to pick up a couple of things and I did not buy PotC: DMC even though it was there for, like, $15. Because I'm hoping to be given it for Christmas, you know? I think I get brownie points for restraint...

Other stuff done or being done today: )

random life stuff, potc

I bought it today, but I think it was more for the extra CD with the 100 pirate songs than it was for the movie!

LOL! Why does that not surprise me?

My mom emailed me today to ask that I make sure Matt does NOT buy POTC:DMC because my little sister wants to get it for him and has her heart set on it, but he's "not supposed to know." Unfortunately, I have it on good authority that my MiL has already bought it for every member of the family. I told mom we'd re-gift the MiL copy, so Erin can have the joy/satisfaction of knowing we have her copy.

That sounds like a great idea. *g* Very strategic for family harmony!

Three checkbooks???
It's all I can do to balance one.

Slightly OT: Your adorable Harry Potter holiday card arrived today, and I love it.
I can see Draco being dragged reluctantly into the cozy scene, grimacing and saying,
"Potter, purebloods don't do domestic Cute. All our Cute is imported."

Thanks for providing such a big smile.

PS; How is your battle with SAD going?

We actually have -- wait for it -- SIX different checking accounts. Three are with the same credit union so all those statements arrive together, and those are the ones I was doing today. Moment of panic when Quicken froze, but it seems not to have lost any data. And only two things had been missed in being recorded this time, which is not bad for us.

Yay, the card arrived! Now you can see why I write instead of drawing. *g* Draco would so say what you've just said!

The SAD coping is going reasonably well; I have a good light on my desk which helps, and it's been sunny the last several days since our big storm came through, which also helps. And I have the daily gift drabble post to look forward to, too.

You have SAD? awww... ((((((((((((((Cel))))))))))))))) I have plain old major depression. Came back a couple months ago. And I went ahead and started school because my ANXIETY was finally under control... now this...
Anyway, we have gloom in common. ;)

I've never been officially diagnosed with it, but I'm pretty certain that's what it is; I get progressively gloomier every fall, have done for years. One reason why I do these holiday gift drabbles!

*nods* That's big of you. Some people just give in and become Scrooges.

Gods, luv, but that's restraint! I salute you! I, however, am weak, and I'm setting out to Wally Mart later to secure my copy...

BTW, Koshie made your chipotle meatballs (alas, no buffalo flesh) but they were fabulous anyway! And wondefully, incredibly spicy! Major yum! Thanks for the idea!

*grins*

I have practice in this kind of restraint; for three years I had an agreement with my family about giving each other the Extended Editions of the various LotR dvds, you see. *g* Not that I like it, but I have experience with it!

Glad you liked the meatballs! I'm not sure whether making them with buffalo made that big of a difference really; given the amount of yummy spices etc. they could probably be made with goat and no one would notice. Hee.
