Sew foolish

Gee, guess what I spent all day (and part of yesterday) doing, hm? The productivity total for the summer so far: 3 dresses, 2 pairs trousers, 2 pairs shorts, 2 shirts, 2 aprons (for my niblings), 1 nightgown. *scratches head* I think that's it! Still on the to-do list (i.e. I have fabric and patterns waiting): 3 more shirts, 1 more dress. ( Read more... )

Oh my god. I'm sew jealous! Can I send some of my sewing projects to you? I don't even have time to deal with laundry at the moment, let alone sewing. Sigh. I'm hoping that once dd1 goes to preschool in the fall I will have some sewing time.

I realized I left out, also 1 skirt.

But, um, no, I really think I have enough to do already. :-) Good luck on the laundry though! FWIW, my sister's sewing dropped off a lot with the second child, so you're not alone. I think she manages only by shorting herself on sleep...

Kudos on the sewing productivity! I'm not a big fan of the art myself. In high school Home Ec, I sewed the sleeve into the neck hole. Damn thing wouldn't fit... Ha!

*grins* I've made similar sorts of mistakes, definitely. And not every one of the things turns out quite as I hope/expect, either! But the making is fun in its own way for me, so it's worth it.
