Loyalty: Will in every version of the Robin Hood story and especially the way I play him is tied to his loyalty. Robin gave him a chance at a new life by saying I trust you to become my squire and stand by my side. Will doesn't easily give that loyalty to others but when he does, they have it and he will die for them.
His era: He lives in a medieval world, its not a fully historical world but has some touch of magic and legend to it. He considers himself a peasant and the idea of great social mobility is foreign to him. The way I see his canon, he will be given land by Robin and lifted slightly up but he always sees himself as a peasant. He grew up stealing food to help his family and those ideas of where he fits are ingrained within him. He's a good man and adaptable, but some modern ideas take more time for him to get used to.
Spirituality: He's from a time when there was one church and it permeated everything. There is ( ... )

You know, the whole thing where Will always thinks of himself as a peasant even if he gets lifted in stature - I think we see that a lot these days too. It makes me think of like country music stars who still feel in their hearts that they are the blue collar workers they started out as.
You know, Hogwarts AUs work in just about anything - it's always fun to drop characters into that world!
