Just to warn you...I've nver been a Gwen fan...and I was even less of a Gwen fan by the end of this episode. Hence there's a lot of swearing and a bit of Gwen bashing going on. Be warned.
'Ianto is totally the man! Kicking the door in, stunning one bad guy without hesitation, kicking the gun out of the other guy's hand, "pray they survive" and then stunning him in the face. Ianto rocks!' That is what I've been saying since series 1, he did head-butt that cannibal.
Fuck you Gwen, you just can't be arsed lying any more. You just don't want to have to bother coming up with new lies for Rhys. But the writer's say she is a kind caring person, so it *must* be true *rolls eyes*
It does look like TPTB have found the right balance between restrained invisibility and delicious snarkiness.
How wonderful it is to see him living up to the character we all knew he could be.
Heh, and Ianto just sips and smiles like the cat that's got the cream.
Ha, ha! I said this almost word for word in my review (just change canary for cream).
And Ianto with his hand on his head as Jack walks past him. Definitely thinking that Rhys should have let Gwen take the bullet.
See, I just read his expression as "Well, that was intense." He didn't seem all that fussed to me, so I actually felt better. Could be wishful thinking on my part, but I'm okay with that. :)
Tosh "If we understood how it worked, we could feed the world!" Ianto "We could release a single." Bwahhaaa!!!! Oh I love it when he does that! Just throws out a line that you hardly even notice until a few seconds later and you go "wait, what did he just say?"
YES! I totally agree, it was one of my favourite lines and he delivered it so perfectly you didn't notice it until a beat later! Ha!
I hate Gwen too, there's no chemistry between her and Jack at all, it's just sort of cringeworthy and awkward when the writers force them into close quarters or whatever. IT'S NOT THERE!!!
So we are certainly on the same Torchwood wavelength my friend!
sorry, I haven't really got anything constructive to offer (haha) but Ianto looked so hot in this episode, I was willing to ignore Jack/Gwen, even at the most ridiculous intervals. That coat he was wearing when he and Owen first entered the meat storage plant (and when he stun-gunned the dudes in the room during the final scenes) made him look absolutely smoking. And I agree, the waistcoat thing was hot on him, too.
I can't help but wonder if it's his ties that make him look so breath-taking.
