Read through completed...
So, I've read through the WIP. The most recent writing done to it seems to stand out as better than the earlier writing. That's a good sign. By no means is there anything worth showing to a beta reader yet, but that I can see some improvement is good ( Read more... ) -

Roget's International Thesaurus 6th Edition has arrived. It's been way too long since I've deep dived into a great thesaurus!!! -
One can never be too careful about backing up...
So, the laptop I often use to write on got zapped by a virus. Luckily, I was able to back up my manuscripts (the completed 1st draft of the Back Story and my current WIP) onto a usb key. The iPad
So, I managed to get my hands on one of the new iPads for a few minutes. Seems like a pretty cool device. What I was mainly interested in is the iBook app. This one had that downloaded for free and had Winnie the Pooh book. The iBook app is real nice. The pages are clear and easy to read. So, Waldenbooks is closing and the local store has everything slashed down. I was in there just before Christmas and picked up a couple of books. I was informed the store would be closing sometime before the end of January ( Read more... ) -

So, the local Mall decided that it would close at 6:00 PM today, even though it's the last Sunday before Christmas. Quite strange since just about all of the other stores near the mall are open late. Managed to make it to the Waldenbooks a few minutes before 6 only to discover the book store is soon to close for good at the mall. On the plus ( Read more... ) -

Spending a quiet Thanksgiving weekend. Will be breaking out what I have of the first draft I set aside in Oct to do a read through. Should be eye-opening :-)

So, I'm still working through the rewrite of the opening act of the book. So far I think it's going quite well. What was once Chapter One (and all seen through the POV of the squire) is still Chapter One but with 3 sub parts, each with a different POV ( Read more... )
