When a character finally finds his/her purpose...

So, as I've let my mind mull over and play around with the decision to show some of the naval battles I've been wondering just who is actually in charge of the protagonists very small fleet. And then, a character who I've never really known what to do with stepped up and decided that she was the commander of the fleet

I'm glad you solved that small problem! Now, the funny thing will be to see if she takes over your brain and starts instigating major andplot-changing events!

I already know she will. She's actually an important character (the mother of a crown prince) but for some reason she's always been hidden from me in terms of her place in the overall story.

Now I know and the ramifications are already beginning to bubble up to the surface. I'm excited!
