It really is! The Boy says "Football is my religion. That is my place of worship." LOL, although that could be said about most of the population there!
Also, I'd prewarned him about the martial rape bit in the episode and he agreed it was wrong but HE STILL LAUGHED. That's the only part where I was sitting there cringing and feeling uncomfortable but he still found Paula's face hysterical. *shrugs* What you gonna do.
I work with a Saints fan who has been trying to explain to me that AFL grand finals are like a religious experience... I dont get it, being a North Queenslander and all but a freaking draw?? That I didn't expect!
LOL, it is a religious experience! It's just, like, the whole place explodes and there's no other day like it. (Although to be honest, years ago it used to be literally the whole of Melbourne who was consumed by it. Now we have so much immigration that there are all these people from Asia and India, etc who have no idea what's going on. I'm not being mean - my mum is from OS and doesn't get it - it's just fact.)
I'm sure the NRL GF is like that too though. And now they're both on the same weekend! Crazy.
I watched the game from the closest Aussie bar I could find in NYC, stayed up till 4 am (was considerably drunk) cheering on the Saints with my red black and white scarf wrapped around my neck, to say the draw was a shock is an understatement a pub full of people on the other side of the world turn to each other and asked what happens now? well we do it all again.
Oh the MCG is pretty, I wish I was even going to be home to watch the rematch but I'll still be in the US. Eric Bana they keep flashing to him in the crowd he is awesome true supporter I <3 him!
I'd love to watch a GF from overseas one day. I think it would be an amazing experience! How many people were there? And are they going to show it next week? (They better!)
There were quite a number of people there, the atmosphere was really good really fun, also really drunk, I really enjoyed myself. I think that they will be showing it again as they were getting ready for the NRL final to start as they were kicking us out, unfortunately I'm now in LA so need to find a place near here that is playing it :(
