This week was a week of meetings...  I was in the office all of 1.5 days all week.  What  a pain!   Thursday night, my parents arrived to spend the weekend with me.  While it's good to see them, it does cramp my style just a bit. Oh well!  They leave Monday morning.

May has been a month of meetings, and this past week was no exception.  The coming week is much the same - unfortunately.  Sucks - as I still have work I need to do so end-up working on weekends.  Argh!!!

What a week!  I was running around like a chicken with my head chopped off.  Thank god it's a long weekend up here.

On Friday, the do-frazzle that controls the turn-signals went on my truck.  I had noticed that when I used the blinkers, they were flashing rather quickly.  Now I know that's a warning sign that you either have a burned out tail-light ( Read more... )

All I can say is thank goodness it is the weekend - cause I can sure use it!   Last week was hectic, given the annual corporate retreat which was then followed by two days of non-stop meetings for one of the projects I'm on. By the time Friday afternoon rolled around, I was ecstatically happy - but exhausted.   So far have spent the day relaxing.

This week was rather busy at work.  We started installing CommVault backup software and although the product looked really cool, its installation instructions are rather lacking.  Needless to say, there were NO instructions for the Linux client software.  So, we have a bunch of calls into Dell Tech Support (Dell sells this software for CommVault ( Read more... )

This was a week of winter across much of Western Canada, and I believe even some of the US.  The snow started falling last Saturday, and in total by the end of MOnday got a foot of the stuff.  To make life more interesting, the wind was also blowing, so there was major drifting, the roads were generally sheets of ice or impassible due to drifts ( Read more... )

I got confirmation that work will pay me to go to Barcelona for a conference this summer .   Whoo Hoo!!! The conference is July 7-10 and  I've tacked on 4 extra days to see the sights. Basically I'll leave Saturday July 5 and return on Monday July 14.  Finding cheap accomodation, however, proved challenging.  With the Euro being so strong against ( Read more... )

On Monday, I went and had my body comp done at the gym and had a long chat about why I hadn't been loosing any weight in the past few weeks.  According to the machine, my body comp hadn't changed, but I had indeed lost about 8 lbs.  Given the amount of error in this machine (+/- 4%),  I don't believe the comp hadn't changed given that all my ( Read more... )

Alberta Ballet coupled with the Edmonton Symphony put on a staged performance of Mozart's Requiem last night.  It was phenomenal!!  It was the first time that I've been to a performance at the Jubilee where the entire audience gave the performers a standing ovation at the end.  In two weeks I'll be going to Edmonton Opera's last performance of the ( Read more... )
