On Monday, I went and had my body comp done at the gym and had a long chat about why I hadn't been loosing any weight in the past few weeks. According to the machine, my body comp hadn't changed, but I had indeed lost about 8 lbs. Given the amount of error in this machine (+/- 4%), I don't believe the comp hadn't changed given that all my clothes are feeling much looser and I haven't really noticed any loss in strength. In chatting about my inability to loose weight the last few weeks, we identified that I was eating too many high-starch carbs and what I needed to do was eat lower glycemic index carbs (cauliflower instead of potatoes). Anyways, I started doing that and Friday my weight finally dropped to just below 170 lbs for the first time in many years! So, my "assignment" is to track the carbs that I eat and ensure that I keep it below a certain level. As I was grocery shopping last night, I started to salivate as I walked past the potatoes... I do love my carbs! But given that I sit behind a desk all day, these damn carbs are the reason I'm having to diet right now. Now that I know that, I will be more careful so I can get this diet thing behind me real fast. My lord - I'm now been doing this for 11 weeks and will likely need to do this till the end of June.
Otherwise, things are good up here! We made our targets, so will be getting our bonuses! Last year I didn't get one as I had only been there for a few months. Sigh!
Meeting another guy for coffee today as well. Will see how it goes!
