[The video flickers on to the sight of a beautiful male resplendent quetzal perched on a vine near one of the statues outside the dining hall. Mal's hand comes into view holding a piece of cut fruit and there's a soft chirruping and whistling off camera. The bird is having none of it, however, and after a moment flies away. Quite well-merely enjoying the change of scenery. [And totally thinking, HA, nice crude change of dream here, Admiral.] Are you all right?

Fine. [But with all the questions of if a flood had started or not makes her a little worried. She knits her eyebrows a little.]

Is this a flood?

It's very like one. But it's strange that there has been no announcement from the Admiral.

[There's something about the way she says "Admiral" that is quietly, but definitely venomous.]

Usually something would have been said.

Tis a lovely bird.

I think all we are able to do is wait, unfortunately.

He is a pretty fellow, is he not? I think I saw a hummingbird as well.

I suppose I shall return to my room shortly. The changes wrought to the halls are fascinating, however.

I know this may seem silly of me, or even a little obvious, but please use caution whilst you wander the halls. Please, Mal. I know not what to expect.

Of course.

You've been here some time. Have there been other floods that have changed the structure of this place to such an extent?

[Persephone is stroking one of the plants and it is responding to her by moving into her fingers like a cat.]

Do you like the plants as well?

[Way to not keep the logins straight, me.]

There are some lovely ones, yes.

If you hold one of the pink ones, the bird may come. They are fond of the nectar within them.

[A little while later, Mal holds up her camera and shows a beautiful jewel-like hummingbird sipping at a pink flower that Mal holds carefully in her hand. She whispers so as to not disturb it.]

Look. Isn't he pretty?

As long as no harm comes, then there is no reason to be worried.

We can do nothing but wait it out.

I suppose not. It's all very strange, but so far, not dangerous.

Strange is not necessarily a bad thing. Though...normally, in this place, it does.

This place does not do much for one's sense of optimism, does it?

I am. It's all quite disorienting, but at least some of it is beautiful.

And you?

I admire the fact that you can see anything beyond-- beyond frustration or fear or whatever else this shit is supposed to be causing.

I'm worried. Things like this usually don't end well.

Do yo think this display is meant to intimidate? I can see how that could be so, but-to what end?
