[The video flickers on to the sight of a beautiful male resplendent quetzal perched on a vine near one of the statues outside the dining hall. Mal's hand comes into view holding a piece of cut fruit and there's a soft chirruping and whistling off camera. The bird is having none of it, however, and after a moment flies away. There's a soft sigh.]
Well, it was worth a try, no?
[The camera jostles around a bit to reveal Mal, who is now sitting at the foot of another statue.]
A most interesting transformation. What could it all mean and what are we to do about it? Do we wait for it to pass?
[Sigh. She looks up at something off-camera.]
These pro-[cough] these men are very polite, at least.
