I just did some major spring cleaning too. I've though about selling some LOtR action figures I have but they are out of the boxes.

I think purging ourselves of unused things now and then is a good thing.

i think it's good that you are getting rid of stuff like this, but in a way it's rather sad that things that meant so much once no longer do. i wish i could do the same with my memorabilia, but i'm just not at that stage yet. maybe someday.
i HAVE, however, been on a manic cleaning frenzy and since my animal rescue group holds garage sales and attends fleamarkets to raise money, i have been selling the stuff there. we need to pay our vet bills, and i'm amazed at what some people will buy, but glad that things i want to get rid of are at least doing some good for all our kitties!

I guess some may think it sad, but I've really not been personally attached to autographs and such. For me, the real meaningful part of obtaining them was the experience - which I will always have as a memory. The writing on the piece of paper - meh. And the books, magazines, and pictures.... well, I've looked at them and.... they're gorgeous.... but honestly, they're just sitting in a drawer. I hope that doesn't come across as uncaring or harsh...

Sharing your memorabilia will make some Rickman fan very happy. *cough*me*cough* I'll save up so that I can get in on some of the action. I know, from experience, the people on ebay can go a little nuts and things get very expensive, very fast. Looking forward to seeing what you have to offer a still collecting fan.

I am a fan of getting rid of things. Just as well as the rest of my tribe are genetically incapable of disposing of anything. I embraced the “clean out the house, clean out your head” philosophy and always feel better for disposing of things. Getting rid of two garbage bags of “stuff” is as good as a lie down to me. I take the items to the local Salvoes (charity shop?) or the tip (dump?) if they are genuine rubbish. I was never the proud owner of a collection of anything, and certainly not one that was worth a bean to anyone else.
Good luck with your purging. I hope it is financially rewarding and opens up some space in you life for other things.

will probably be posting some of the photography books today - watch above ebay link. Trying to decide whether to post them together as a lot or separately. Thinking as a lot.

If I understand the book right, Tom Wilkinson (whoever he is?) recommended Alan and Alan recommended Sigourney Weaver. There's no real text or story with the Alan pics, just an arrow from Tom Wilkinson to him. On Sigourney's text it says that Alan recommended her.

I'll check the weights again but the three books together are pretty darned heavy. I don't think ebay offered many options for the intl ship costs, but I will check again.
