I was so happy to see this chapter pop up and of course it didn't disappoint. I have no idea how you're going to end this but I have a feeling I'm going to be pleased :)

Oh, and this paragraph?

He’d finally said it, thought Jack. Now, when it was too late and she’d never know. But perhaps it wasn’t too late, because love transformed the lover, not only the beloved. He knew, somehow, that the Doctor would open his heart to Donna, over and over, in ways he never would have done to him and Rose, even when their partnership was at its peak. That probably wouldn’t have happened without Rose. He’d been on a journey, not only through time and space, but also through the byways of his complicated hearts. Jack happened to believe that was always a journey worth taking.

Wonderful, just wonderful.

I'm delighted you liked it. Two things bothered me - the Doctor crying and the L-word bit. Both all too likely to bring the snark down upon my head.

As for the end, I don't plan any last minute stamping on people's hearts - why should I when we have RTD to do that?

I shall ignore the slur on my wonderful language and just say this was awesome ;) I loved Donna's bluntness with Jack and her protecting the Doctor. Bless

Please rest assured I don't share Donna's opinion, and I'm sure her first sight of the front of the Millennium Centre will change her mind!

I can just imagine Donna gobbing off about the Welsh, LOL!

Very moving in places (Ten! Ah, I wept for him), very funny in others (the parts about President Bush made me smile, and that’s just for starters).

I’m gonna have a think about this chapter for a bit, probably re-read it later, and give a proper review when I’m feeling calm again (you are very good at bringing the tears when you write, I should remember that more often than I do - and that’s meant as a compliment, by the way.)

Loved this chapter! I love the Doctor and Donna, but I also love Jack, and it's not often my favourite character is in story with those two. Thanks for doing this and making it such a good story too!

There is definitely a place in the world for more Ten/Donna/Jack, preferably on my hard drive.

That? That was wonderful. As always, I am in awe of your ability to expose the depths of the Doctor's psyche (and reveal just how broken he really is). And Donna is, as always, a joy. Go her for yelling at Jack!

Like the first commenter, I, too, have to pull out this paragraph as being incredibly awesome/brilliant:

He’d finally said it, thought Jack. Now, when it was too late and she’d never know. But perhaps it wasn’t too late, because love transformed the lover, not only the beloved. He knew, somehow, that the Doctor would open his heart to Donna, over and over, in ways he never would have done to him and Rose, even when their partnership was at its peak. That probably wouldn’t have happened without Rose. He’d been on a journey, not only through time and space, but also through the byways of his complicated hearts. Jack happened to believe that was always a journey worth taking.

I really look forward to the conclusion.

ETD: to say 'first' commenter :)

Glad I didn't overdo the "broken Doctor" for you - I think my biggest issue with JE was that he fell for the Davros line and was left in that damaged and broken state. That was so very wrong. It really undermined the general optimism of the show and I sincerely hope they address it somehow before he regenerates.
