The Grand Experiment

I've been up all night on a one-woman working bee (except for the small gap playing computer games), and I've done quite well, getting through the last three episodes of Fruits Basket and a live-action movie called Casshern (it doesn't have a mechanical swan that projects holograms from its head). Oh, and the doll I was working on - in particular ( Read more... )

What did you think of the end of Fruits Basket?

The American version of The Ring scared me badly enough. I ain't never watching Ringu. Although I did buy a book the other day by the guy who wrote Ringu...

It's not Izumaki (Spiral) is it? Eeeeeehh!

I love Fruit's Basket beginning to end (the doll is Momijichan, for my flatmate, honest).

What do I think? I think the dark currents that were lurking, as much as a current can lurk, under the humour and sparkle, rise to the surface in three very intense episodes. I think Kyo's got reasons for being so bratty - given, most of them involve being a hotheaded brat that doesn't think of others, but the emotional baggage is pretty heavy as well. I think that, except for the meeting with Akito, the whole anime is pretty close to the manga, and I wish they'd do a second season so we could see the rest of the print comics. I think I want the rest of the manga to hit Palmerston so I can read the damn things... I have theories that Yuki is aup to a bit of matchmaking, though I won't say who, in case you haven't read that far.

You're making a Momijichan? That's so cool!

We have the first manga, but none of the rest. It's something we'd like to get our hands on, though.

And yes, it's Spiral - it was on special at the Warehouse, so I thought I'd spend $3.99 and see what it was like.
