NationMaster is a pretty neat site. I've always looked at the CIA World Factbook (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/index.html) when I wanted country info. It's not as pretty as NM . Although I've just compared the background information on Bermuda on each site and it is identical. Hmmm... which came first I wonder?
I imagine that NationMaster sourced their info from the CIA site.
I've heard people talk about the CIA website, and how good it is, but...it's the CIA! To quote Michael Parenti: "My friend and I have a debate about whether CIA stands for Capitalist International Army or Cocaine Importation Agency, but I don't think the two are mutually exclusive."
:-)
We did pretty well in the trivia (we came second), but it was a bit unsatisfactory - because it was a fundraising event, the people running the night decided to run it so that you could buy an answer for one question per round, and in the last round, you could buy all the questions. We only lost by two points, and we bought perhaps four questions in the seven rounds. I don't know how many the winning team bought, but it seemed like we could easily have thrown more money at it and got the first prize, which was quite a good prize. Anyway, it was still a fun night, but it left a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth.
