There’s always a reason.
As far back as he could remember, Klaus had never put much stock in the stories from the Bible. They were just a part of ancient history that he was required to learn in Gymnasium. And seeing as he attended a Catholic school, Bible Study was just one more requirement. Although, he did have to admit to enjoying reading about all the various violent battles and wars, skipping over the pages and pages of who begat whom.
One particular story had struck a cord: lodged in his brain, staying with him long after he had grown into a mature adult, leaving his school days behind. Perhaps it was a coincidence when he attempted to emulate this heroic figure, perhaps not. But the seed was planted, and that was that.
It was just childish foolishness, Klaus had told himself again and again. A superstition.
And now, here was Eroica asking in so offhand a manner why he allowed his hair to grow so long.
It was true. All these years later, he still refused to let his hair be cut shorter than his shoulders. But unlike Samson, Iron Klaus was not about to tell this Delilah the secret to his strength.
