Gorgeous recessive white canary hen - very sweet - a good mother to her babies and a good companion to Wing-A-Ling during his/her final illness.

Banana died.  We played fetch.  She would toss the corncob on the floor, I would pick it up.  She'd throw it on the floor again.  She loved that game.

Wing-A-Ling was the youngest sibling to Apricot, Lemon Drop, and Bonsai from the co-mothered clutches of Tulip and Tiramisu.  Wing-A-Ling was a beautiful little canary with tones that ran from pinkish to orange to yellow and a healthy smattering of brown patches (especially on the wings, hence the name).  Wing-ALing was able to die in peace and ( Read more... )

She was a fantastic chocolate and white canary.  She co-mothered Apricot, LemonDrop, Bonsai, and Wing-A-Ling with Tulip.  The world is a darker place without her.

Last night or early this morning my lead cockatiel Honey Bunny died.  Charlie is still upset over the loss.  Dusty and Chandler seem skitish and standoffish.

Pumpkin died this morning.

Sweetie Pie, my albino parakeet, died yesterday. It was sudden and inexplicable.

Nutmeg, my oldest female canary and matriarch of the flock, has died.  She had been a companion to Saffron.  Mango was her mate and there was great affection between them.  She was the mother of Peepers, Dandelion, Daffodill, Tulip, Gourmond, and Pumpkin.  She would alight on my head to pull at my silver hairs for her nests.  Her grandbabies ( Read more... )
