Intimations of Immortality (Elena/Klaus) - Part 1 lit_chick08 April 7 2011, 16:47:58 UTC
He had been expecting someone like Katherine, another woman who wielded her beauty like a sword, who could annhilate a man with a smile and promise heaven with a circle of her hips. For 500 years, as he had labored under the belief he had lost his shot at breaking the curse, Klaus created elaborate scenarios for what he would do when he came across Katherine again and how he would avoid being trapped again ( ... )

He starts appearing on her doorstep every night leading up to the sacrifice; Klaus suspects she does not tell anyone out of fear of what he will do. She waits on the front porch, and he does his best to coax conversation out of her. It has been a very long time since Klaus has desired the company of another person, and he genuinely likes Elena ( ... )

YES. Bamf Elena is bamf, this is awesome. I love the contrast of Katherine using her seduction and Elena using her strength, and the fact that Klaus appreciates and notes this strength in her. I love Elena using all the leverage she has to her advantage, and Klaus being so fascinated with her, telling her she'd be a great vamp, just, yes, I love the way you write them both in this, it's wonderful.

BAMF Elena is the only Elena I ever want to see. Her inability to be anything but BAMF is why I love her so.

Ever since this whole moonstone plotline started, I've thought it's weird how fragile everyone's treated Elena because she holds all the cards. It's like when she stabbed herself in front of Elijah; she's the last chance they have and she literally has all these Originals by the balls. I really wish the show would explore that more and let Elena really realize how powerful she is.

YES.

Haha, I know what you mean, I guess everyone's so desperate to protect her because they don't want her to end up dead, and even if she does hold all the cards, she'd still die and she's the only one who's okay with that - but at the same time, yeah, she's not fragile by any means and she really is the one in control, they need her and she's running the show really. I wish there could be more of that too, the stabbing-herself was so ridiculously awesome. I'm sure there'll be lots more BAMF!Elena in the upcoming stretch of episodes!

Elena's strength here is fantastic. Also, is it silly of me to say that I really like your Klaus? I know we haven't even seen him yet, but his portrayal here is great. That dynamic between them: his charm, her resolution. I can imagine it being like this on the show.

Thank you so much! I keep imagining Klaus as a cross between Elijah and Damon: the whole Old World manners and actions but also used to charming women to get what he wants.

I can't figure out what I love more: Elena's no-nonsense attitude and strength of will or Klaus's determination and charm.

I am now unbelievably excited for 2.19!
