Caroline told her people won't understand. Elena wanted to argue but she remembered what it was like when everyone found out Caroline's dad was sleeping with one of Sheriff Forbes's male deputies, so she didn't push the issue

Okay, I feel like I need to say more, but yes, just, basically, THIS, I love this, so much. This is so perfect and Elena/Caroline and aldsjlds Caroline not wanting anyone to know and it's so heartbreaking but Elena being there for her in the end and the last lines, just, ugh, I love you so much for this.

This is beautiful!! I can just imagine Elena wanting to tell the world about their relationship and Caroline being more cautious - it makes perfect sense! And the ending is just perfect and...words fail me. I'm totally on a Caroline/Elena kick as well right now, so I'm glad people are joining me on it :)
