Yucko, I'm so sorry. Having felt the pain, I can only try to soothe you that you are not failing as a mother. If you are able to concentrate and accomplish anything outside yourself at ALL, I completely applaud you. And if part of that concentration is making sure Rose is cared for by others, you are doing all that you can for your baby-- and that is the best for the both of you.
Good luck with your wait and the surgery, and I hope the pain subsides so that the time will go by a bit faster!
If you're feeling really ill for Rosh Hashana, then Jewish Law states you don't have to participate fully. Same with Yom Kippur. If you're ill, you're actualy not allowed to fast.
Some tea with a dash of clover honey will likely be enough to wish everyone a very sweet new year! :)
