for once, i gotta disagree with ann

No, not you, annicat.

Apparently on Hannity and Colmes recently (last night), Ann Coulter made a pretty startling statement. Yes, she's known for that, but it's usually liberals that are shocked and appalled by what she's saying. This time I gotta shake my head. Even if you don't like her, this is pretty entertaining.

The fact that you can agree with anything that spews from that woman's lie-hole consistently boggles me.

However, my hope is that her "endorsement" of Hillary will serve to help Obama take the nomination. Because if Ann Coulter doesn't hate you, you're doing something wrong.

Well, so much of what she says gets taken out of context and twisted that I'm not surprised by your surprise.

But yeah, I cannot imagine how Hillary in the White House could possibly be better than McCain. Maybe my priorities are just different, but the war and health care are my top two with immigration and campaign finance somewhere later.

A monster is a monster, regardless of context.

Funny thing: the war and health care happen to be very high priorities for me, too.

Thanks for the summary; some of us can't view such videos from work.

If you'll recall, McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts, because they weren't combined with spending cuts. It doesn't get any more conservative than that.

I wasn't really into politics as much back then (I was, what, 18?) but his critics say now that he stated back then it was because too much of the tax cut was for "the rich". Now, when "the rich" pay a ridiculously large majority of the taxes, I tend to think they should get a fair share of cuts.

But yes, in general I think tax cuts should be coupled with spending cuts. That's one of my biggest criticism of Bush.

Duly noted. I don't really see Ann Coulter supporting Clinton beyond this one statement. She's known for exaggeration, and this must be one of those cases. While McCain still wouldn't be my first choice as the Republican nominee, I still see him as a classical conservative: Strong on environmental protection (aka conservation), strong on fiscal discipline, preservation of civil rights and property rights. Granted, many of these principles are strange or actively opposed by self-styled neoconservatives, but that doesn't make them conservative and McCain not.

I posted this link in Resk's thread. The article is a bit out of date (October 31, 2007), but it's about who is getting the most cash from the arms industry.

Spoiler: It's Hillary with a total of $52,600 (more than all of the other dem nominees combined). McCain only managed to get himself $19,200. Romney was the favorite on the Republican side and even he only managed to pull in $32,000.

I said below that I'd vote McCain any day over Hillary and the reason being is that when it comes to war, I want him in charge. And, guess what, if Hillary's in office, we're gonna be fighting for a long time to come. So, yeah, I'm a bit scared that I'm finding myself agreeing with Ann Coulter. However, I still don't see Republicans swallowing that pill when they go to vote. McCain may be a bit too liberal, but at least he's a war hero and, um, not Hillary.

oops forgot to post the link. Like I said, it's old. Figures have surely changed by now but I've not cared quite enough to find current ones.

Wait, I was with you until that bit. Coulter thinks Hillary > McCain. You think opposite. So you agree with me and disagree with Ann, right?

No, I agree with Coulter. That, however, is why I would support McCain.

I never in a million kajillion years thought that I would say this, but in a space of forty seconds:

a. Ann Coulter was entertaining;
b. Alan Colmes was funny; and
c. Sean Hannity appeared to be clear-headed.

WTF.

Well, I suppose Al Sharpton could say something nice about a white dude. That'd be weirder.
