The store I just started working at was broken in to, trashed and robbed last night. I went in town this morning and walked into a special kind of chaos. I am really glad I am not working today, though some one did try to give me their shift, but I couldn't take because I am due at Orkila this evening. I just called the Red Cross to see if they will send me to Haiti. Since I am unemployed I have the time and I have the training and the experience to feel like I might be able to help. I mentioned our neighbor was giving us some cat food, right? Well, today he had J help bring it over. There are nearly 50 cans of wet food, 2 giant Costco bags of good cat food and three bags of litter. I guess I don't have to worry about our kitties being poor anymore!!!!!!

Well that only took 11 hours... which was really about half the time I thought that it might. I never managed to find a ride to Seattle despite several Craigslist posts requesting one, but I set out this morning with no real plan and it worked out amazingly smooth. Last night was amazing! We are almost all the way out of the old moldy dump we have been living in and last night we stayed at the gnome house for the first time. The bedroom is in the trees and with more windows than walls all looking out to the water. It reminded me of straw devil only far more comfortable. I love harvest time. This weekend I made 3 veggie pot pies (2 went in the freezer), 2 loves of zucchini bread and 12 muffins (1 loaf I gave to a friend and there is still more of that giant zucchini in the fridge) and 2 fruit pies (1 went in the freezer). 90% of the produce was given to us from people's gardens.
