I'll try to keep an eye on this!

Various members of our family have been homeschooled or have homeschooled their kids with varying degrees of success. A lot of the people who say they never could do it...really, REALLY shouldn't. At least not without some sort of part time school/cyber school/structured curriculum that they didn't come up with themselves in place.

Like my mom? Shouldn't have homeschooled my older brother or me when we were younger, but with my little brother she does it with the help of two part time schools that force her and my brother to keep some sort of schedule.

In the case of you and your daughter, I can totally see how this would be a better fit than a lot of what's out there, though. Good luck! And have fun on the trip!

You are brave! And crazy! And quite the Cool Mom!

(I hope you are taking a little wee bit of alcohol with you!)

Check out the Hershey Gardens. They're pretty amazing, and they have a great Children's Garden.

Oh, my!! I just had my brother and his 7, 11, 14 year old here for 2.5 months over the summer. My brother was very ill, so care for the children fell to me if he was going to have his visitation with them. (I chose to never have kids, at a loss on how to raise another person.) It was one of the most stressful things I've ever done! Glad we did it, but man! I hope your trip goes fabulously! And I hope you stay sane! Because if it were me, my marbles would be lost by the third day! My hat is off to you. If ever in SA, Texas, remember I have a retreat center with guest housing that could easily house your family for free while you visit, includes internet, cable TV, AC, full-sized pool, hot tub, huge green area, biking/ skate boarding/ rollerblade area, full kitchen, and me, etc. I mean that. I am really offering.
