First thing about me: I'm a homeschool mom. My daughter is what's called twice-exceptional in educational-ese. She's been diagnosed with
Asperger's syndrome but has a very high intelligence. (Thus sayeth her mommy. But really, we're doing 3rd grade math, she taught herself to read by 2.5 years, she has near eidetic memory. . .so yes, thus I sayeth.) She's not a great fit for traditional schooling. So, we homeschool.
While I'm not one of those homeschoolers who insists that traditional schooling should be the last choice for everyone, I do think that most of the people who say "I could never homeschool" actually could. I said it, after all, and so did my cousin, until she pulled her son out of school 18 months ago.
Anyway, my cousin and I are leaving Saturday for a 3 week field trip. If you ever wondered what a 1600 mile trip with two moms, five children in one minivan would be like, we're going to blog the trip. Be a doll and comment there as well.
