You snore. I ever tell you that? You snore like a Gorlian buffalo. With a heavy cold. 'Snot natural, Jack. It's positively evil. I fully intend on making you pay tomorrow.
Lying on the bed we're sharing, propped up on my elbow, I'm seriously contemplating suffocation by cushion. Instead, I find myself watching you. City night light dancing on bare flesh. Chest rising, falling, the pulse in your neck jumping.
You shift in your sleep. Just for one gut wrenching, mind skittering moment, I think it's my name you murmur.
But it never is, is it Jack? You heartless bastard.
